Stockpile destruction

Some countries retain obsolete or surplus stockpiles of weapons and ammunition, often stored in unsuitable conditions. If not neutralised, they can explode accidentally or fall into the wrong hands. Destroying them in a safe and controlled manner is essential to prevent tragedies and to strengthen stability.

A forgotten explosive risk

In many countries, old stockpiles of weapons and ammunition have been stored for decades. Over time, their chemical components deteriorate, increasing the risk of accidental explosions and making handling them more and more dangerous. At the same time, unsecured storage can fuel arms trafficking or be diverted, posing a long-term threat to regional security and stability.
