About us
Our vision
FSD is committed to a world free from landmines and other remnants of war, where women, men and children can live in safety, reclaim their land and livelihoods, and contribute to peaceful, resilient and sustainable societies.
Our mission
FSD protects communities affected by armed conflict and helps them regain the possibility to live in safety and dignity. Humanitarian demining is often the first step: clearing explosive devices, raising community awareness and supporting accident survivors. However our commitment goes further. FSD also contributes to peacebuilding, supports vulnerable populations, assists in the rehabilitation and reconstruction of affected areas, and promotes livelihoods and local skills development, while strengthening food security and resilience to climate change. Through these efforts, FSD helps transform territories scarred by war or instability into safe, stable and hopeful places.
